Carrot seed (Daucus carota) oil has tonic properties, and was used historically for urine retention, kidney and digestive disorders, and to promote menstruation.  It also acts as a diuretic for the liver, purging water from fat cells.

About carrot seed oil:

Daucus carota is a member of the Apiaceae (unbelliferae) botanical family.  The Daucus carota used in this oil is native to Europe, Asia and North Africa.

Either an annual or biennial herb, it has a small, inedible root that is tough and whitish in color.  The plant grows up to five feet in height, and has a multi-branched stem, hairy leaves and umbels of white lacy flowers.

Carrot seed oil is steam distilled from the dried fruit (seeds).
