Why ParaFree™ is needed:
In 1993, the municipal water supply in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was contaminated with the microorganism cryptosporidium. More than 400,000 people were sickened, and more than 100 died. While this was an extreme case of parasitic contamination, such contaminations are not rare.
But, except for such extreme cases, most people in America assume that our water is safe. Until recently, we made the same assumptions about our foods (and still act as if we do, most of the time). Few people understand that parasites are a very common — though often unrecognized — problem in America today.
These organisms often inhabit everyday foods and our water supply; and, anyone with a pet is even more exposed to this potential health risk. One doctor I've spoken with said that, in his gross anatomy class, every cadaver had several pounds of parasites in its intestinal tract.
Parasites: A major, undiagnosed problem
One of big problems with parasite infections is that they generally go unrecognized. While most people — and doctors — are aware of the digestive disturbances typical of some parasite infections, there are many other health problems caused by these unwanted organisms that are usually misdiagnosed. Some of these include:
- Digestive upset and discomfort, like indigestion, gas and bloating,
- Malnutrition,
- Toxicities from the waste gasses of parasite metabolism.
Malnutrition is a huge — though typically unrecognized — problem in America today. It's hard to find anyone today who doesn't demonstrate some evidences of it. And, while there are many possible reasons for malnutrition — like eating junk/fast foods, relying on processed or microwaved foods, or even the poor quality of the foods available to us (see the book Empty Harvest
) — parasite infections could play a major role in this, as well.
The toxic load that many carry from the waste gasses of parasite metabolism is another major, though generally overlooked, issue. This systemic toxicity can cause a host of problems (no pun intended), even mimicking major diseases.
But, if a guy goes to his doctor with any of these problems, unless he is doubled over with cramping and diarrhea, chances are his doctor will never even look for parasites. If an actual cause is even looked for at all, in most of these cases, symptoms are generally attributed to some other problem. People are even referred to counseling for problems that have — at their root — a parasite infection.
Even more common is self-medicating with over-the-counter digestive aids.
