Under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA; pronounced du-shay), the dissemination of truthful information and scientific studies about natural healthcare products is allowed, provided that certain disclaimers are attached. To whit:
These statements are for informational purposes only. They have not been evaluated by the FDA. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
In practice, however, the FDA has sole discretion in determining what falls within those guidelines, and it appears that anything that might significantly challenge the medical/pharmaceutical industry's government-sponsored monopoly of healthcare is considered too dangerous for you to have free and ready access to.
The Missing Link transcript has been deemed to be too dangerous to permit here. However, you can see it off-site.
The high cost of your tax dollars at work
Despite the fact that both Congress and the Courts have ruled that the FDA's interpretations of DSHEA violates the spirit of this Act (as well as the First Amendment of the Constitution), the FDA continues to restrict the dissemination of this, and other vital information.
What is ironic here is that FDA-approved medications, and the FDA-evaluated statements that go with them, are the leading cause of death in America, with iatrogenic events leading to more than 795,000 deaths each year, are responsible for more than 40% of hospital occupancy and the untold suffering of millions of Americans. What's even worse, the medical journal reporting these numbers admits that this figure represents only about five to twenty percent of the actual events are ever reported. That means, we're not talking about 795,000 deaths per year from modern medicine; the number is five to twenty times that.
A matter of choice
However, the FDA doesn't see the irony here; and, as a result, our freedom of choice in the matter of health care is seriously abridged. The people who know natural products the best aren't allowed to give you the benefit of their knowledge, and you are forced to hunt for the information you need.
Given the choice between providing you with accurate and reliable information, based upon sound scientific research, clinical use and personal anecdotes, or providing you with the finest quality therapeutic-grade essential oils on the market, I've opted for the oils.
I believe strongly in the benefits of the Young Living Essential Oils products. They have been a God-send to me and my family. The FDA's tyrannical censorship of information about these products, contrary to the spirit of the law, creates for me a conflict of conscience, a conflict in which there can only be losers.
I'm sorry for your inconvenience.
